I have been eagerly awaiting this book and was not disappointed, being back in Sergis with Chad and Ash was another trip with mystery and suspense as they investigate the murder of local, Normie, who we met in the first book, a vulnerable member of the community who was beaten to death in a brutal way, the more they uncover the more deceit and long buried secrets they expose.
Chad feels this investigation more than any other, Normie was a friend, a close friend and he is determined to catch the killer, Ash is asked to be a consultant again and with her help Chad is feeling better about it all, although the town folk are making their opinions known and they are not always good, will Chad and Ash get the answers and the killer?
This is such a well written story, fabulous characters who add so much to the story, Chad and Ash are growing closer and their relationship is sorely tested with the pressure they are both under to solve this case, the secrets that they uncover will shock most people to learn what Normie’s life was like.
I did love this one and highly recommend it, can’t wait for the next book.
